Rome and Parma, January 8, 2025 – Di Marco, a leader in the production of flours and bases for Roman pinsa, the latter an invention of its founder Corrado Di Marco, acquires a majority stake in Pizzami alongside the Galati family, founders of the company, who reinvest a minority stake. Pizzami, a point of reference in the production of gluten-free pizza, pinsa and other 100% baked goods, brings with it a long experience in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector.
The acquisition is part of a strong growth path for Di Marco, more than doubling its size in a few years, reaching 60 million euros in turnover in 2024.
With a long history of tradition and innovation, Di Marco is recognized first and foremost for the invention of the Roman pinsa and for the high quality of its flours and pinsa bases, both in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector and, more recently, in large-scale retail trade (GDO). The company can count on a distribution of its products in over 70 countries worldwide. With its entry into Pizzami, Di Marco further strengthens its positioning in the gluten-free segment, expanding its product portfolio.
Pizzami has established itself as a point of reference in the gluten-free segment for the Ho.Re.Ca. and GDO channels. With a production site in Parma, it is now the third largest Italian producer of gluten-free pizzas and baked goods, exported worldwide.
“We are thrilled to welcome Pizzami to the Di Marco Group” says Alberto Di Marco, CEO. “This acquisition not only strengthens our commitment to excellence, tradition and quality, but also allows us to expand our product offering, benefiting from the strong complementarities of the two companies.”
“Joining Di Marco is a great opportunity for Pizzami” says Roberto Galati, CEO of Pizzami. “We are confident that together we can continue to bring innovation to the pizza market, especially pinsa, offering high-quality products and further consolidating our position in the gluten-free segment.”.
The acquisition of Pizzami comes after the recent announcement of the birth of Di Marco North America Corporation, the company's subsidiary in the United States. Two important results, which allow Di Marco to consolidate its leadership position on the market and to further expand its presence internationally.

Di Marco
Founded in 1970 by Corrado Di Marco, Di Marco is today a reference in the production of flours and bases for Roman pinsa. Historically specialized in the Ho.Re.Ca. segment, the company has more recently extended its offer to large-scale retail trade with a dedicated product under the Di Marco brand. While maintaining a strong link with tradition, the company has demonstrated great capacity for innovation to continuously anticipate market trends. Di Marco has contributed significantly to the spread of Pinsa Romana in the world, through the “Originale Pinsa Romana” Association, as well as the “Pinsa School”. In 2022, Abenex, a European private equity fund, became a shareholder of Di Marco in order to accelerate its growth path, especially abroad.
